Dating Submission Services For Fun & Profit
by Chris Kilian

Is your free links page lonely?  Does it sit around sadly looking at
the other FFA pages enjoying so many hits?  Is it holding your
carefully crafted auto-responder message with no one to send it to?
Is that what you dreamed of for your little free for all page when
it was coming into existence?  Did you raise it to be a loner?

Bet not.

"But what can I do?  I have tested the page.  It works.  How can
I get more hits for it?"

You should arrange some introductions for your web page.

Now, this disclaimer first.

Some people believe that a FFA that allows just anyone or
anything (like automatic submission services, for example) to
put a link into the page is not the best idea.  "Too loose"
"Not worth it"  "The page will never get live visits"

Really?

OK.  Then do not follow my advice.

But let me ask a quick question.  When is the last time you
visited a free links page actually looking for something?

I will admit I visit them sometimes, but not to follow links.
I go because I want to see what others are saying in their
links.  I want to keep up with the competition, but I do not
follow them to find new sites.  Well, not too often.

The goals of the game for free links pages have changed.

It is not the poster, but the postee who gets most of the
benefits?  Why?

Because the postee, the person hosting the FFA page,
gets to send that auto-response.  That is the value now.
If you are hosting a FFA page that does not allow
automated responses, dump it.  There are better
choices, and you are being under-served.

To be able to get hits which gives you the chance to send
your sales message, you should take some time to get
your page listed with some of the automatic submission
services.  Getting accepted into even one or two of the
more popular services will give your FFA quite a work-
out, and allow you to deliver 100s, even 1000s of
NON-SPAM messages to the link posters.

When you run Link-O-Matic or SubmitPro or
SubmitWolf or whatever, how do you know your page
link has been accepted?  The confirmation/sales letter.

If you submit often, you may have a filter in your email
box that captures those sales messages for deletion later.
That is what I do.  I use a special email address to do
my submission work.  Mail sent to that address (the
confirmation message) is separated and deleted from
time to time.

If you are really advanced, you may have an auto-
response that is sent to the sales message-sender. This
is kind of like cyber Poker:

"I bet my link will get traffic."

"I bet my auto-response will get traffic"

"I bet my auto-response to your auto-response will
get traffic."

Recently, my auto-responder was playing a game to
a draw with the auto-responder of a well-known,
unnamed marketer.

My submission "subscribed" me to his email list.  His
email list sent a confirmation of my "subscription."
My auto-responder sent the same sales message.
His list service sent a clarification message.  My auto-
responder sent the same sales message.  They
traded  messages 12,000+ times before I took my
auto-responder offline to break the cycle.

At this time, not everyone is as automated as this
fellow and I are.  Many, many of my messages are
getting back to the link poster.  Which is the major
reason that justifies having a FFA.

So, getting back to the question.

Is your page lonely?  Could it use more traffic?

Start dating, or courting, the submission services.

I have a list of 150+ places that your should visit
to request inclusion in their rotation of sites. You
can get the list with any email to
ffa@stealthpromotions.com as a subscriber.

Then your FFA can hold its head up high, as it
delivers your sales message over and over. It will
be able to contribute to your sales, and you can
both feel better about that.
